— The Sussex County Farmer’s Market at the Fairgrounds is adding informative seminars to their Saturdays in July. Alongside local fresh fruits and vegetables, Jersey Fresh products, and straight from the farm meats, cheeses, sausages, yummy honey and scent-sational soaps and candles, educational seminars will be conducted by the experts in their fields.

On July 15 Kate Martin of My DoTerra Essential oils will conduct an informative lecture on the purpose and production of essential oils. Essential oils are distilled from the seeds, bark, stems roots and leaves of flowers and plants. Essential oils can be applied topically, aromatically, or taken orally. DoTerra products are certified pure and therapeutic grade essential oils. Essential oils can effect the body in many ways. Kate Martin will explain their purpose at 10 a.m. and noon. Essential oils will be available for purchase.

The Fine Feathered Friends Poultry Festival on July 22 will feature special presentations from members of the Sussex County Poultry Fanciers. Fascinating feathered fowl will tickle the fancy of the Farmer’s Market forager.

On July 29 Ron Kahn and Bill Paterson, of YB Farms in Lafayette, will explain the hydroponic method of growing luscious vegetables with only 10% of the water needed for conventional garden crop growing. Their program will begin at 11 am and feature the green vegetables and herbs one can grow all year long by using the hydroponic method. Hydroponic plants will be available for purchase.

The Sussex County Farmer’s Market at the Fairgrounds is located at 37 Plains Road in Augusta, N.J. and is open every Saturday from 9 to 2 pm. For more information please call 973-919-1118.
