— Hudson Catholic Regional High School (Hudson County, N.J.) defeated Pope John XXIII Regional High School in girls varsity basketball on Saturday, December 16, 2017. The final score was 47-41. The game took place at Pope John XXIII Regional High School in Sparta.

Haylee Ramirez scored 12 points and added three steals for Hudson Catholic. Anasia Staton scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and made four blocks.

Kenna Squier led Pope John in scoring by contributing 25 points. Squier also grabbed 10 rebounds and made two assists. Morgan Heller scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds. Sarah Saks scored four points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Team records: Hudson Catholic Hawks 1-0. Pope John Lions 0-2.
