  • Hudson Catholic quarterback Johnathan Bates gets knocked out of bounds short of the goal line by Sussex County defenders Brendan Maroney and Ryan Kinkead (11) in the second quarter. Bates threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns.




  • Hudson Catholic ball carrier Hasan Dominick smashes into Sussex Tech defender Danton Hall at the goal line late in the second quarter. Dominick was able to get past Hall and make it into the end zone for a touchdown.




— Hudson Catholic Regional High School (Jersey City, N.J.) defeated Sussex County Technical School in varsity football on Saturday September 15, 2018. The final score was 39-14. The game took place at Sussex County Technical School in Sparta.

Quarterback Johnathan Bates threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns for Hudson Catholic. Wide receivers Donnell Adams and Amarrie Bolden each caught one touchdown pass.

Running back Isaiah Decias rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Hasan Dominick achieved two rushing touchdowns.

Freshman Sussex Tech quarterback Aiden Smith threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to Joseph Martinez and Ryan Kinkead, respectively.

Team records: Hudson Catholic Hawks 1-2. Sussex Tech Mustangs 2-1.
