Bryant Richard Muenzen, 70, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at home. He was born in Mount Vernon, New York, on August 2, 1948, to Richard and Frances Ann (Loveland) Muenzen. Bryant was raised in Merrick, New York, and graduated from Calhoun High School and Nassau Community College. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology from the State University of New York at Oneonta. After graduation, he worked for Schwarz Mann in biochemical sales, where he met Ruth Hrdlicka. Bryant and Ruth were married on November 10, 1973. Together in their early years of marriage, they owned and operated a 7-11 store in Rockaway and a laundromat in West Orange. They initially lived in Jefferson Township; since 1986 they resided and raised their family in Sparta. Bryant adored his grandchildren and was able to spend the annual Maine family vacation with Natalie, Janelle, and Luke in August; he met Lexi shortly before his passing.

Bryant is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth; his children, Kristin (Kelly Bennett) of Princeton, Jason (Christine) of Ithaca, New York, and Mark, of Stony Point, New York; his grandchildren, Natalie and Janelle Muenzen, and Luke and Lexi Muenzen-Bennett; and his brother, John (Jeanne) of Hague, Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Lee and Neil. A celebration of Bryant’s life will take place at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 85 Conestoga Trail, Sparta, NJ, on November 3, 2018 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bryant’s memory to the Camp Ma-He-Tu Foundation (819 Powers Street, Baltimore, Maryland, 21211). Camp Ma-He-Tu is an overnight camp in Harriman State Park, New York, established in 1937 for girls of all backgrounds. Bryant served on the Board of Directors for a number of years and with Ruth spent many hours working at the Camp.
