The Saint Kateri Columbian Squires Circle #5177 are known for their volunteer and charitable works.

Squires Jack and Riley Maldonado had organized a fundraising project to help raise donations to help the ongoing relief efforts in Puerto Rico following the devastation from Hurricane Maria. The Sparta based group wanted to ensure the donations were sent directly to an organization in need at the local level. Squires Chief Counselor Nick Cutrone made contact with Jose Lebron-Sanabria, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Jose and his son Marco were instrumental in organizing relief efforts to the Monastery of San Antonio Abad in Humacao, which was one of the first areas to be hit by that tremendous storm. As a result, the Squires made a donation to this monastery as they continue to rebuild and support the various ministries in their parish community. Father Oscar Rivera, the Abbot of the monastery and Lebron-Sanabria family were so grateful that a group of young men and their parish in New Jersey would reach out to help them in their time of need.
